She achieves this through various exercises after the chapters and various breakdowns on this mindset. So here’s 3 lessons I took away from You’re a badass at making money.
- Beware the little prince
- Set a concrete goal
- Commit to the things that scare you
Beware the little prince he’s stealing your money
The little prince runs the kingdom, despite the calls of his people’s suffering, despite the agony outside his door. He never leaves the castle because the outside is scary. This is why we don’t make money because we think of money being outside the castle. We associate making money with being outside our comfort zone and tend to prevent ourselves from making money. In short, the little prince is the negative associations you made as a child and letting control the kingdom of your mind. Take back your crown and take control of your kingdom.
Set a concrete goal
When deciding what your target amount of money should be. Aim big and set yourself a reasonable deadline. Once you set the deadline, make a list of what skills you need to learn or what actions you need to take to achieve these goals. If you need any more help in creating a concrete Goals here’s our Goals guide. In short, set a goal of how much money you’re going to make and a deadline to when you’re going to reach it.
Commit to the things that scare you
For every thought that makes you excited, start working towards achieving that thought immediately. For every startup, every invention, and every goal, start before you can even second guess yourself. Make mistakes and start course correcting as you go. If it terrifies and excites you, then it means that it’s worth achieving and worth the struggle to get it.
